Dear Biotechnet members, colleagues, and friends,

As a scorching summer kicks off, we're pleased to welcome four research groups from SUPSI, who joined Biotechnet as an affiliated member this year. We look forward to getting to know their expertise and involving them in our thematic platforms.

To create synergies between our organisations in infectious disease prevention and treatment, we signed a collaboration agreement with the Swiss Biorisk Alliance.

Finally, we warmly welcome early-career scientists as part of Biotechnet's Young Reps committee.

We wish you restful time off with family and friends and look forward to seeing you at our events this fall!

          • Jennifer Nika, SUPSI Department of Innovative Technologies
          • Prof. Dr. Maëlle Bochud, HEIA-FR ChemTech and Biofactory Competence Centre
          • Marcel Suleiman, FHNW Institute for Chemistry and Bioanalytics

          • Dr. Julija Pecerska, ZHAW Institute of Computational Life Sciences

Some young reps will participate in the Biotechnet summer school in Sion this September. The committee's official kick off meeting will take place in the fall and we're looking forward to hearing about their first ideas and activities!

Collaboration partnership with the Swiss Biorisk Alliance

          swiss-risk-alliance-logo

Biotechnet is pleased to announce a collaboration partnership with the Swiss Biorisk Alliance. The two associations agree to exchange information about events and initiatives, and provide each other access to expertise in our networks.

This partnership is relevant to two of Biotechnet's thematic platforms interested in infectious diseases: the Antibiotics plaform and the In Vitro Diagnotics platform. Moreover, manufacturing of vaccines and emergency medicines is relevant to our Biomanufacturing platform.

We look forward to connections between our experts and invite you to mark your calendars for the Swiss Biorisk Alliance's annual meeting on November 20, 2026 in the afternoon.
